Walpole Western Australia, is surrounded by the Walpole-Nornalup National Park and the Walpole-Nornalup Inlet System. There is so much to see and explore in the Walpole region - experience the vast spreading views from Mt. Frankland, the mirrored reflections in the quiet rivers, the glory of the wildflowers, the majesty of the trees and the world famous Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, the beauty of the inlets and the rugged grandeur of coast and islands.
ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS :
Explore the picturesque township of Pemberton visit the Lavender and Berry Farm, Wander through the beautiful gardens or purchase some of the home made treats available in the gift shop. Enjoy an afternoon scenic drive that loops through many of attractions, including lookouts and wineries. The river is flanked by magnificent karri trees, river banksias, peppermints and the wattle.
Join the Pemberton Tram for one of the most majestic rail journeys in Australia. Pemberton Tramway A slow scenic wander through the beautiful forest near Pemberton on an old-fashioned restored tram or steam train.
GLOUCESTER NATIONAL PARK
The Gloucester National Park also contains The Cascades, where the Lefroy Brook tumbles over a series of rocky shelves, which vary from a gentle flow in mid-summer, to a raging torrent in winter. The rocky rapids provide a place for an outdoor lunch, a leisurely stroll, or a few peaceful hours of fly fishing.The district bursts into dazzling colour with the onset of the wildflower season in Spring, lending a magical charm to the area. Here we visit magnificent climbing trees; the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree, a dizzying 75 metres high, and the Gloucester Tree standing 61 metres high. The Gloucester Tree is probably Western Australia’s most famous karri tree, towering above the forest surrounding Pemberton.
WOW ECO NORNALUP INLET CRUISE
Journey south to Walpole and jop aboard the fully enclosed Rainbow Lady for a morning tea cruise across the scenic Nornalup Inlet. This is a special opportunity to learn about a pristine natural paradise with entertaining commentary from the Muir family.
Walpole is a delightful little town on the South Coast of Western Australia, situated right in the heart of the Walpole Wilderness.
VALLEY OF THE GIANTS - TREE TOP WALK
Travel through the spectacular and mighty Tingle and Karri forrests. The Valley of the Giants – Tree Top Walk features a stunning walkway positioned 40 metres above the ground amid the dizzying heights of the tingle forest canopy. Experience walking in the Tree Top canopies of tall karri trees with views over core wilderness and then venture into the Ancient Empire of 400 year old red tingle trees along a boardwalk that meanders across the forest floor.
DONNELLY RIVER CRUISE
Relax with a morning cruise on this pristine river. With a casual but informative commentary, you will learn some of the history of the area and view its beautiful flora and native wildlife. After a brief walk on the sandy beach (conditions permitting), we will cruise back up the river enjoying a complementary morning tea with fantastic muffins.
